- Sesha
- In Vedic myth a thousand-headed serpent god who issued from the mouth of Bala-Rama shortly before his death. He was chief of the Nagas, the clan of the snake worshippers, and ruler of Patala. To him also is attributed the story of the holding back of the waters until overcome by Indra, for which reason he has been equated with Vritra. He was also referred to as Ananta. Vasuki, another Naga ruler, seems to have been a kinsman of Sesha.
